Unused Map Elements

From Content Warning Wiki

Below is a list of map assets that are in the latest update of Content Warning, but are disabled in the scene, meaning they cannot be viewed without tools like UnityExplorer

Utopia/Sky Island

Cube.001 (5)

Cube.001 (5)

Cube.001 (5) is a small wooden chair placed directly under the stairs, clipping through the fifth step. There are also Cube.001 (6) and Cube.001 (7), but they're not visible inside of the house. The names suggest that they are the same small wooden chairs.

DeskSmall

DeskSmall

DeskSmall is, as the name suggests, a small wooden desk placed at the base of the staircase inside of the House, clipping into the bottom two steps.

UtopiaProps & UtopiaVegetation

UtopiaProps and UtopiaVegetation

These meshes are giant replicas of the House and plants that are seen on Utopia. They're untextured and dont have any collision when enabled.

RaceTrack

A giant race track that is located behind Phil's Hats. When enabled on it's own it just appears as a lone road with a Go Kart, however a small, undetailed grass block lines the entire course that needs to be enabled seperately. This block of grass does not have any collision. The track's layout shares a slight resemblance to that of SNES Mario Circuit 3.

ItemsToMake

Located in the scene for Utopia are several unused items. Sadly, they have no data other than their names, some of which are already implemented in the game.

The list of items are as follows:

  • Sound Player
    • Already implemented
  • Party Popper
    • Already implemented
  • Instrument
    • Likely a guitar, flute, or some other type of musical instrument.
  • Green Screen
    • Already implemented, though as a prop rather than an item. perhaps at somepoint there would be a portable green screen as well.
  • Bioduk
    • Translated from Swedish (Landfall's home language) to English, it reads as "Cinema Screen" Again, already introduced as a prop.
  • Megaphone
  • Go pro camera head mount
    • Self Explanitory, it couldd allow you to use other items whilst still recording. A perfect item for singleplayer!
  • Holdable drawn papers
    • Papers the player could hold and possibly draw on themselves
  • Sticky notes that can be placed
    • The same as above, but maybe players could write or draw on them. Could be useful for leaving a note before you die.
  • Squeky hammer
    • Misspelled in the files, a Squeaky hammer could be used as a joke item on your friends, or perhaps could be used to ragdoll monsters.
  • Pogo stick
    • The only item I don't really see the use of. You can move around slower and more frustratingly?
  • Suction cup bow arrow
  • Party blower snail like flute
    • This seems like 2 different items combined into one entry. The Party blower would be fun as a reusable Party Popper, and the "Snail Like Flute" might be an item that summons a Snail, or can be used to mimic its sounds.

QuotaViewStation

The Quota View Station

A functional debug item. It takes on the appearance of a large laptop set up on the kitchen table inside of the house. On its screen is the current day, the current weeks Quota shown in ViewScore rather than actual views, and the current money balance of the save file. More details about this object can be found here.

Discount Tag

An Old Flashlight with a 25% Discount. NOTE: The price of the item does not change until the player checks out.

Part of the shops UI. It appears as a yellow tag with a percentage in the top right corner of an item's grid in the shop, which whill apply a discount to its price.

Sunflower 2 (11)

Sunflower 2 (11) Next to the item shop.

For some reason, a single sunflower placed next to the item shop is disabled.

Crane.001 & Crane.002

Crane.001 and Crane.002

A pair of early models for the crane carrying the Diving Bell located at the back of the island.

Hat Test

Behind the frosted glass in Phil's Hats is a hidden test character. By default only the Hard Hat is visible once enabled, however all 31 hats are there as well. There is also a comically large Cowboy hat that is invisible on top of the store.

Face Creator Graphics

There are two placeholder graphics for the Face Creator screen in the bedroom. The first is a thin black ring outlining where the player's face should be, though it's slightly misalligned. The second is a crudely drawn image of the metal diving helmet surrounding the player's face.

Video Extractor Assets

The Video Extraction Machine has two unused assets associated with it. The first is a large, pale yellow-green button placed in front of the lid on the machine. The second is a text element that reads "VideoBurner" located on the top right of the screen on the machine.

Early "TV"

The machine in the House

Inside of the House is a large, gray box with a screen that reads "WATCH FLASH CARD" as well as a replica TV screen. The purpose of this device appears to be an early way to watch discs, however in the final release, this machine only eats any CDs you give to it.

Factory

Light_4000

A light object that illuminates the entire surface in front of the Factory, likely used before the game was meant to be pitch black.

Floor (1)

A gigantice wall whose sole purpose is to block off the crawl space in the back of the factory.

"Doors"

Several blue, glowing arrows called "Doors" in the Scene files.

Harbour/Ship

HarbourBase

A group of three objects hidden in the Harbour scene files. the first is a massive rectangular platform with rounded edges that goes up about halfway into the ship It also has weirdly shaped islands just off of the edge of the platform. The second is a large object that covers the ship's lower deck and bar that was likely used as a lower LOD model if the player wandered far away from the ship. The last is called "City" and is a series of decorative rectangles in the distance on the base that resemble far away buildings. Because of how these objects clip into the main map, they were likely removed because the developers couldn't get them to look/function right.

Cube.005

Cube.005, unlike its Utopia counterpart, is an untextured staircase that's identical to the one found in normal Harbour, located a bit above the top floor directly above where the normal staircase is, and was likely used as a placeholder to copy and paste.

TruckCargo

Within the Parking Garage aread on the fourth floor are a pair of trucks, whose cargo is turned off in the Scene files. The cargo that they're carrying is entirely hollow and can provide a good hiding spot from monsters, which is likely why they were removed, as it may have made hiding too easy.

Giant Crane

Also within the Parking Garage's scene files is a Giant Crane that's located just above the top floor entrance. It is purely decorative and is unknown as to why it was removed.

BarSink

The bar on the fourth fifth floor has an unused sink hidden right next to the entrance behind the counter.

Mines

Source

A strange pattern linning the cave walls, this is likely a rough model that the devs used to inspie the final map

Tunnel

A long, wooden minecart bridge located just below the rock bridge near the smaller large room with several boulders placed next to it. This was likely removed as there was no good place to put it.

Minecarts

There are 2 types of unused minecarts located far our of bounds and invisible by default. Several look like a stereotypical steel minecart, but one appears to be a boring machine, its body looking like a large screw or bolt and its head being a drill.
